Le pourridié noir, causé par Thielaviopsis basicola (Berk. et Br.) Ferr., est une maladie particulièrement répandue dans les comtés d'Essex et de Kent en Ontario et dans les régions à tabac du Québec. (...) Lorsque l'infection est grave, les plantes jaunissent et fleurissent prématurément. Lorsque les infections sont légères ou modérées, de nouvelles racines se forment peu à peu et les plantes atteignent une taille presque normale, mais mûrissent tardivement.
